Media Literacy Education at Jatiasih State Elementary School 10, Bekasi

Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation SCTV-Indosiar and Akademi Televisi Indonesia (ATVI) have held a Media Literacy Education outreach at Jatiasih State Elementary School 10, Bekasi, West Java. The program aimed to foster a fondness for reading while simultaneously providing insight on using social media wisely through sessions led by Kak Ningnong and Kak Oma. They emphasized on the informed use of social media and the importance of reading, following the idea of Generation Z as the “Visual Generation”. The program recognizes that reading is like an exercise for the brain, capable of increasing children's creativity and knowledge. 

Apart from that, there were also activities in the Mobil Weli (BookMobile) guided by Kak Ratih and Kak Adrian where children could read books and tell stories, as well as participate in activities from children's shows on TV. The event was also enlivened by the P5 exhibition (Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila). As a child-friendly school against bullying, Jatiasih State Elementary School 10 and their student representatives have shown appreciation for the activities held at their school, not only for the practical benefits, but also for the fun activities they were provided with. The program also helped emphasize on the importance of reading.
