Free Cataract Surgery in East Seram, Maluku

Yayasan Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih (YPP) SCTV Indosiar together with Maluku Primary Eye Clinic, Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and Indonesian Ophthalmologist Association (PERDAMI) organized a Cataract Surgery Social Service at Bula General Regional Hospital, East Seram Regency, Maluku on 15-17 May 2025.

This activity was supported by the Medical Team from the Maluku Main Eye Clinic and PERDAMI. Cataract patients came from several areas around East Seram Regency. A total of 247 eyes were successfully operated on in this activity.

The Cataract Surgery Social Service was attended by Mr. M. Miftah T. R. Wattimena, S.Ip., MA - Deputy Regent of East Seram and Dr. Dra. Suratna, M.Psi, - Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly of the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
