Free Cataract Surgeries in Palembang

Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation SCTV Indosiar (YPP), in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and PERDAMI, organized the Cataract Surgery Social Service program in Palembang City on November 24, 2023 at the Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Public Hospital, Palembang City. Hundreds of patients from Palembang City and its surrounding areas took part in surgery with a total of 314 patients, while 107 cataract patients passed the screening and were fit to undergo surgery. Post-operational activities were conducted on November 25 2023—one day after the cataract surgery took place.

The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini graced the program with her presence and oversaw the activities herself.
