Free Cataract Surgeries in Banjarmasin

The SCTV-Indosiar Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and PERDAMI, held the Cataract Surgery Social Service program in South Kalimantan on September 20-22, 2023 at the Ratu Zalecha Hospital, Martapura.

Hundreds of patients from four different cities/districts in South Kalimantan participated in the program, namely from Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Banjar, and Tapin.

129 eyes have undergone the surgeries provided by YPP, with 17 teams from Jakarta and 10 teams from South Kalimantan deployed by PERDAMI to aid in the surgeries.

Also present during this activity was the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs,  Tri Rismaharini, who took part in supervising the cataract surgeries.
