Media Literacy Education at Baru State Elementary School 05

On May 31, 2024, YPP held the Media Literacy Education program focused on the topics of anti-bullying, social media safety, and anti-pornography at Baru State Elementary School 05. 

The Principal of Baru State Elementary School 05 expressed her gratitude on behalf of the school for the activities conducted by YPP SCTV Indosiar. The activities will help children interact with social media wisely, while providing them with the knowledge and awareness of the impact of exposure to pornography. Such exposure can be detrimental to children and greatly disrupts the cognitive processes and mental development, including concentration.

The session focused on using social media wisely, anti-bullying, and the dangers pornography in social media poses to daily relationships. With the knowledge gained from the program, students are expected to be able to use social media wisely and overcome the risks of pornography.

The activity was led by Kak Dikar KS, a storyteller & ventriloquist, accompanied by a puppet named 'Monka', interactive games, magic tricks, educational videos, and various simulations that incited enthusiam in the children, thus allowing them to abosrb information easily and happily.

Kak Dikar KS emphasized that it is of utmost importance that children are wise with social media, and so must continue to familiarize themselves with reading, following the idea of Generation Alpha as a "Visual and Intelligent Generation".
